Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! 🙂

Another year has gone and we’re left reminiscing about the best and worst moments of the year, our successes, our failures, the things we should and could have done better, the friends that we have made and those that we have lost, and most of all, we think of how the next year 2014 will be different from the year that has just past. We think of the things that we want to do, the changes that we want to make, the opportunities that we want to take …
But rarely do we ever give enough time to giving thanks, giving thanks to the people that have made our lives so wonderful, those that have made every occasion/event happen, those who have helped us up when we are down and cheered us on, those who just have been there through it all. We think of what WE want to do, but we don’t think about what OTHERS have done for us.
In the US, January is National (It should be GLOBAL) Thank You Month.
But that doesn’t mean we should only give thanks this month. We should always be giving thanks everyday, cherishing each and every moment and never taking a second for granted. Because you never know what tomorrow brings and you never want to live your life with unspoken words and unfinished businesses.
But most of all, give thanks to the one and only one above God Almighty who has given us his only Son to die on the cross for us to save us from sin. For it is only because of Him that we may live each day and have eternal life.
Here’s a little chapter from the Bible that I would like to share about God’s enduring love.
Psalm 136
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
 His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods.
 His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
 His love endures forever.
to him who alone does great wonders,
 His love endures forever.
who by his understanding made the heavens,
 His love endures forever.
who spread out the earth upon the waters,
 His love endures forever.
who made the great lights—
His love endures forever.
the sun to govern the day,
 His love endures forever.
the moon and stars to govern the night;
 His love endures forever.
10 to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt
 His love endures forever.
11 and brought Israel out from among them
 His love endures forever.
12 with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
 His love endures forever.
13 to him who divided the Red Sea asunder;
 His love endures forever.
14 and brought Israel through the midst of it,
 His love endures forever.
15 but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea;
 His love endures forever.
16 to him who led his people through the wilderness;
 His love endures forever.
17 to him who struck down great kings,
 His love endures forever.
18 and killed mighty kings—
His love endures forever.
19 Sihon king of the Amorites
 His love endures forever.
20 and Og king of Bashan—
His love endures forever.
21 and gave their land as an inheritance,
 His love endures forever.
22 an inheritance to his servant Israel.
 His love endures forever.
23 He remembered us in our low estate
 His love endures forever.
24 and freed us from our enemies.
 His love endures forever.
25 He gives food to every creature.
 His love endures forever.
26 Give thanks to the God of heaven.
 His love endures forever.
Let this new year be about gratitude and thankfulness. Amidst the prosper, abundance and blessings that we usually wish for, let us be kind and forgiving, patient and slow to anger, and appreciating every moment and everyone in our lives.
