PS. Cafe Paragon

Brunch has always been something enjoyable – a time when you can just sit back and relax, read your newspapers or catch up with your family and friends. It’s a time when you can just slow down for once, a temporary escape from all the hustle and bustle of the city, allowing you to take your own sweet time to eat a gratifying lunch/breakfast and savour each and every bite.
PS. Cafe has always been one of Elisa’s favourite brunch places. With its cosy and laid-back setting and friendly staffs, it’s definitely the right place for you to de-stress and enjoy your food. We’ve often eaten brunch at PS Cafe Palais and Dempsey, but never at the one at Paragon. So being PS. Cafe fans, we decided to give it a try, because as far as we know, P.S. Cafe can never go wrong 🙂

Coconut French Toast

We had the Coconut French Toast with Bacon ($16). However, the coconut flavor was conspicuously missing D: The French Toast alone though, with superbly sweet delectable maple syrup, was fantastic. Paired with the salty and crispy bacon, and you’ve got the perfect bite – sweet and savory, soft and crispy at the same time. The portion is rather generous too, 2 Huge Slices of French toast! Can’t get any better than that. They should have called it French Toast with Bacon and foregone the missing coconut in the name altogether.

Portabello Stack

The Portobello Stack ($19) with poached egg, fried potato, baby spinach drizzled with passionfruit vinaigrette, pork breakfast sausage and goat’s cheese was another satisfying and delightful dish. The mushrooms itself were just ordinary, but how could you go wrong with mushrooms? The crispy fried potato was definitely something different, it was almost something like shoestring potato chips! The poached egg was, without doubt, the star of the dish though. It was perfectly cooked with firm egg whites and gooey yolk ^^ yummmm. Elisa’s not a fan of sausages, but this was refreshing. The sausage was grilled, which gave the skin that extra crunch and bite, and the inner filling seems to melt in your mouth. Nom nom nom nom.
PS. Cafe Paragon doesnt really serve brunch, but they serve breakfast everyday from 9.30am-11.30am (last order is at 1130am) and lunch from 11.30am onwards. If you want the best of both worlds, you could come at 11.15am, have a smoothie and something from the breakfast menu, and when lunchtime comes about, have something from the lunch menu! Or if you don’t have such humongous appetites like we do, you could just have a soup, salad or simply just dessert! All in all, you can enjoy it  any way you want to as long as you enjoy yourself, because that’s what you do at PS. Cafe 🙂
